Marching Band Information

 

Welcome to the Newnan High School Marching Cats! We are thrilled that you’re considering joining one of the most exciting, rewarding, and fun organizations on campus. Whether you’re an experienced musician, a first-time marcher, or someone eager to contribute to the visual or percussion ensembles, the Marching Cats family has a place for you. As part of our team, you’ll develop your musical and performance skills, make lifelong friends, and create unforgettable memories. With a tradition of excellence and a commitment to teamwork and school spirit, the Newnan High School Marching Band is more than just music – it’s a way of life. Let’s take the first step in your marching journey together!

We want to make joining band easy! Here are the steps!

Step 1: click here and register for the marching band!!!!!

Step 2: Join the Marching Band Remind Text account by texting @newnanband to 81010

Step 3: Test out marching band to see if you like it! Come to one or all of these marching band rehearsals: 13, 15, 20 from 4:00-5:30

Step 4: Fill Out and Turn in the 4 Required Forms (You can start this today)

Turn these in by bringing them to rehearsal or emailing them to Kim.Marvin@cowetaschools.net

  1. Member Contract (due by the end of May)

  2. Medical Authorization Form (due by the end of May)

  3. Heat and Concussion Waiver (due by the end of May)

  4. Physical Form (due by band camp)

Step 5: Pay your fair share fees.

Spot Acceptance May - $100.00

This money is due immediately following auditions to reserve your spot.

Total: $400, plus participation in 2 large band fundraisers


Option #2 for Band Fees

This money is due immediately following auditions to reserve your spot.

Total: $500, plus participation in 1 large band fundraisers

Total: $600, no fundraiser participation required

  • *All Students who need band shoes will need to purchase these at band camp. This is a $56 purchase in addition to the band fees above. We will size students for shoes at the band parent Xperience event.

  • All fair share fees are non refundable.

  • Band Payments should be made online at NewnanBand.org. When you have made a payment, please forward your email receipt to Kim.Marvin@cowetaschools.net

STEP 6: Attend THE Summer Training Camp on July 7 at NHS from 8am-12pm.

STEP 7: Attend band camp. July 17-25, weekdays only, 8am-8pm


Here is some information for the season.

Important Dates

FULL BAND CAMP SCHEDULE WILL BE POSTED HERE IN JUNE

  • Band Camp at Newnan High School. (REQUIRED FOR ALL MEMBERS):

    1. July 17-25 8am-8pm (weekdays only, we stop early on Wednesday for those that attend church)

  • School Year Rehearsals and Performances. We following this basic rehearsal schedule. Please keep up with the band calendar which can be found on the band website.

    1. Monday 4:00-6:30pm

    2. Tuesday: 4:00-7:00pm (late night rehearsal)

    3. Wednesday: 4:00 to 6pm

    4. Thursday: NO REHEARSALS!

    5. Friday and Saturday: We will perform at all Friday night football games as well as some Saturday marching band competitions or rehearsals. Since all performances are required, it is suggested that you set aside weekends.

  • Fair Share Fees. We strive to have the lowest band fees. PAY ONLINE HERE.
