Steps to Joining the Marching Band

The first thing you should do is click here and register for the marching band!!!!!

Things all members should be doing:

  1. Join the Remind Text Message Group by texting @newnanband to 81010 and complete the Marching Band Registration Google Form by Clicking Here

  2. Turn in the 4 required forms (given below)

  3. Pay your “Fair Share Fees.” (See below)

  4. Be at band camp!

Required Forms and their due dates

We must have all of these forms completed before band camp. Turn these in by bringing them to rehearsal or emailing them to Kim.Marvin@cowetaschools.net

  1. Member Contract (due by the end of May)

  2. Medical Authorization Form (due by the end of May)

  3. Heat and Concussion Waiver (due by the end of May)

  4. Physical Form (due by band camp)


Here is some information for the season.

Important Dates

SUMMER SCHEDULE HANDOUT CLICK HERE

  • Pre-Camp Training Sessions

    • Students should attend at least 1 of the following dates for summer training (you are also welcome to attend both!)

      • June 24, 9am-1pm *This will take place at Newnan High School Band Practice Lot!

      • July 1. 9am-1pm. You can do both. This will take place at Newnan High School Band Practice Lot!

  • Band Camp at Newnan High School. (REQUIRED FOR ALL MEMBERS):

    1. July 8-12 8am-12pm (weekdays only, we stop early on Wednesday for those that attend church)

    2. July 13 Band Fundraiser

    3. July 15-19 8am-8pm (weekdays only, we stop early on Wednesday for those that attend church)

  • School Year Rehearsals and Performances. We following this basic rehearsal schedule. Please keep up with the band calendar which can be found on the band website.

    1. Monday 4:00-6:30pm

    2. Tuesday: 4:00-7:00pm (late night rehearsal)

    3. Wednesday: 4:00 to 6pm

    4. Thursday: NO REHEARSALS!

    5. Friday and Saturday: We will perform at all Friday night football games as well as some Saturday marching band competitions or rehearsals. Since all performances are required, it is suggested that you set aside weekends.

  • Fair Share Fees. We strive to have the lowest band fees. PAY ONLINE HERE.

     

    Newnan High School Marching Band Fair Share Fees Dates

    Each band member is responsible for selecting one of the Fair Share Payment Options below and submitting payments as outlined. The fair share fees cover items not paid for by the Coweta County School System.

Option #1 for Band Fees

Spot Acceptance May - $100.00

This money is due immediately following auditions to reserve your spot.

  1. June - $100.00

  2. July - $100.00

  3. August  $50

Total: $350, plus participation in 2 large band fundraisers


Option #2 for Band Fees

Spot Acceptance May - $100.00

This money is due immediately following auditions to reserve your spot.

  1. June - $100.00

  2. July - $100.00 

  3. August  $100

  4. September $50

Total: $450, plus participation in 1 large band fundraisers

Option #3 for Band Fees

Spot Acceptance May - $100.00

This money is due immediately following auditions to reserve your spot.

  1. June - $100.00

  2. July - $100.00 

  3. August  $100

  4. September $100

  5. October $50

Total: $550, no fundraiser participation required

  • STUDENTS WHO ARE PAYING FOR THE UPCOMING BAND TRIP DO NOT NEED TO FOLLOW THESE PAYEMENTS. YOU FEES ARE ALREADY FACTORED INTO YOUR TRIP PAYMENT SCHEDULE!

    *Note: All new members (or old members that have lost them) are required to purchase band shoes at an additional cost of $56.00.  We will fit students for shoes at band jam. Parents can pay for shoes at band jam in May.

    *All fair share fees are non refundable.

    Band Payments should be made online at NewnanBand.org. When you have made a payment, please forward your email receipt to Kim.Marvin@cowetaschools.net
